Dr Jennifer Hall summarized her year as 2015–2016 President of the College of Family Physicians (CFPC) in terms of advances in education, advocacy, and governance in the annual State of the College Address.
The year included the launch of Mainpro+®, a major update to the Red Book, ongoing evaluation of the Triple C curriculum, and consultations about adapting the CanMEDS 2015 competency framework to be centred in family medicine.
The CFPC also provided leadership on high-profile issues such as medical aid in dying and opioid abuse.
Dr Hall noted this was all accomplished while the CFPC introduced its new governance structure.
She thanked her colleagues, CFPC staff, her patients, and her husband for their support as she fulfilled the duties of CFPC President. In her final act in this role, Dr Hall installed Dr David White as the 2016–2017 President.
