The CanMEDS-FM Review Working Group invites all teachers to an interactive Family Medicine Forum workshop on Friday, November 11th, to discuss what it means to be a family physician.
Last year the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada launched the revised CanMEDS 2015 Physician Competency Framework. Now, the College of Family Physicians of Canada is in the process of adapting CanMEDS 2015 to be centred in family medicine, with a planned release date of fall 2017.
CanMEDS-FM can be used to inform undergraduate family medicine training, family medicine residency training, and continuing professional development. In this workshop participants will have an opportunity to examine the proposed changes and provide feedback about the Roles, emphasizing the FM Medicine Expert and how the other Roles collectively describe the current and future family physician.
