The ARFM Taskforce is pleased to announce the release of the Executive Summary of an important background paper at the Rural Educators Forum at FMF. Review of Family Medicine Within Rural and Remote Canada: Education, Practice, and Policy will be released in December 2015. The taskforce, a joint initiative between The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC), aims to better understand the status of rural medical education and how it is meeting the health care needs of rural Canada. This document is the first step toward developing a road map to support the recruitment, retention, and training of rural and remote family physicians to ensure comprehensive health services delivery throughout Canada.
