The College of Family Physicians of Canada’s Annual Meeting of Members provided an opportunity to report on the success of the electronic voting initiative introduced for the election of the 2016–2017 Board of Directors.
More than 2,000 members voted, with 92% in favour of continuing with electronic elections and 93% in favour of continuing to share nominee details in advance of the election.
Some of the positive feedback from members indicated they found the process to be transparent, inclusive, and efficient. Members also appreciated that the electronic process allows the full membership the opportunity to vote for their Board members.
