We’ve lined up amazing speakers to kick off each morning at FMF in Vancouver with stimulating presentations:
Wednesday, October 30th: Dr. Robert Woollard is an expert in social accountability in medical education and in the development of ecosystem approaches to health care. He has published extensively in these and other areas of family medicine research and is a former head of the Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia.
Thursday, October 31st: Timothy Caulfield exposes bad science and debunks myths plaguing public health with his powerful writing, as in his book Is Gwyneth Paltrow Wrong About Everything?: When Celebrity Culture and Science Clash. He is a professor in the Faculty of Law and the School of Public Health and a research director of the Health Law Institute at the University of Alberta.
Friday, November 1st: Dr. Evan Adams is a Coast Salish family physician and chief medical officer of the First Nations Health Authority in British Columbia. A multi-talented individual, Dr. Adams is also an actor and motivational speaker who brings kindness, wisdom, and keen perspective to his presentations.
Saturday, November 2nd: Dr. Christy Sutherland is medical director of the Portland Hotel Society in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where her team cares for a vulnerable population of patients. She was recognized as British Columbia’s Family Physician of the Year in 2018.
We look forward to having you join us for their thought-provoking sessions! Watch for more details to come in the FMF program.
