We Become What We Celebrate

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify how sharing and celebrating meaningful patient and professional stories can strengthen purpose, connection, and wellbeing in family medicine.
  2. Apply practical storytelling and reflective practices to make invisible values and impacts more visible within their teams and patient relationships.
  3. Recognize the role of intentional celebration in sustaining resilience, fostering belonging, and inspiring future positive actions.

Description: Family physicians hold countless stories of impact—moments that shape patients’ lives and sustain their own sense of purpose, yet these moments often go uncelebrated amid the pace and pressures of clinical work. In this keynote, Juno-nominated songwriter, keynote speaker and facilitator Peter Katz weaves live music, storytelling, and evidence-based practices to help participants reconnect with the meaning behind their work. Through homegrown examples and practical tools, attendees will explore how intentional celebration can reveal the “recipe” behind their successes and deepen connection with patients, colleagues, as well as their loved ones.
