About FMF

Hosted by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), Family Medicine Forum (FMF) is Canada’s largest and most comprehensive annual conference for family physicians.
FMF focuses on providing four energizing days of practical, cutting-edge, and thought-provoking educational opportunities. It features impressive keynote presentations and a vast array of continuing professional development (CPD) sessions designed specifically for family physicians, researchers, and teachers.
FMF also offers many special events, celebrations of achievements in family medicine, an extensive Exhibit Hall, and several social opportunities that allow you to recharge and network with peers and colleagues.

About the CFPC

Representing more than 35,000 members across the country, the CFPC is the professional organization responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification, and lifelong education of family physicians and for advocating on behalf of the specialty of family medicine, family physicians, and their patients. We play a key role in maintaining the reputation of excellence of family medicine training at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in all 17 Canadian medical schools. We evaluate and regularly accredit the family medicine residency training programs. In addition to evaluating training, we are active in certifying and providing CPD opportunities. Members are required to participate in CPD. In 1995 we introduced MAINPRO® (Maintenance of Proficiency), our CPD platform, and in 2016 we launched our updated version, Mainpro+®. Designed to be flexible and fair, Mainpro+ is based on adult learning principles, enabling members to maintain their practice knowledge and skills.
